Friends, Romans…

Zulu-dancing white folks…

Allow me to de-lurk for a moment, with something uniquely South African! Unless you really hate it, pay some attention to the lyrics. They were written for a child, newly born.

  1. De-lurk, huh? You proper so and so… I always admired your hyphenic prowess. Proper punctuation has always been a plus in my book. I’m only on the fifth chapter, but, whatever.

  2. i’m not sure i have any prowess to speak of Rock Star, but thanks! that book though gets shorter and clearer the more you read it. hope you’re doing ok. 🙂

  3. i’ll be back properly soon everybody. i’ve not gone AWOL just haven’t been feeling at all well this week. and i’m moving soon so there’s been that (not far from here-in fact just up the hill to a better house). thanks to everybody for checking in. 🙂

  4. thanks Marcus, I’m fine now. We’ve just been in a Black South Easterly wind which makes everybody cranky and a lot of people have been sick and usually are in Spring here. We call it the Cape doctor since it blows all the pollution out to sea. on the way though it gets up our noses :)still i have to start packing….hmmm…

  5. Marcus, this is true. I’ve about 8 boxes that contain only…books! I also have a container garden, that seemed a good idea to plant at the time, but right now just seems really heavy :)Evidently I own a ridiculous number of candles and have I in fact, ever bought anything in a plastic container, that I haven’t washed and re-used?-the container that is? My mother would be proud.everybody-I’ll be back soon. I’m just between both houses right now. and haven’t had too much energy left over for much else :)keep blogging and be happy, friends 🙂

  6. Wow, you’re a well-read woman 🙂 Hurry back and we’ll be happy to see you back blogging again, Michelle!

  7. most are natural history/biology or psych books, some sociology, lots of poetry books and hiking guides and recipe books and no less that 3 first aid manuals. care to have a heart attack?? :lol:i’ve just read “The Secret Lives of People in Love” by Simon van Booy. I’m not sure about the quality of the writing for some reason, even though on the face of it it seems rather elegant. The stories are touching and inventive though. Thought provoking rather than conclusive. Try it 🙂

  8. Hmmm, that book does sound interesting, and you are a very well read person 🙂 If I come to visit you have to show me the collection 😀

  9. i will but only if you promise to have a heart attack so i can finally use my CPR skills ;)i don’t regard myself as a well read person and to prove it, today I bought: “The Ultimate Trivia Quiz Game Book (Over 1000 pieces of utterly dispensible information). Now I know how utterly clueless i really am. Did you know that Kleenex tissues were originally manufactured as gas mask filters during the first world war? yes this book is going to make me really, really smart. S-M-A-R-T i tell you.

  10. I’ll fake a heart attack so you can test those CPR skills, Michelle :DWow, you are going to be the smartest S.A. girl there ever was reading that book! I had no idea that was how Kleenex originally came about. You’re never too old to learn and I’d like to continue learning 🙂
