:Don a compass the N direction is a magnetic bearing. True North will be the north found on a map. the TRUE bearing. to find out where you are you add (or subtract) the magnetic variation (in degrees) to/from the true north bearing on the map.just an analogy :Ddon’t know if you understand all this and just confused by the English part 😀
