Pleased to Meet You?

But…

Who are you?

Are you living your dreams?

Are you stuck in a job you hate and too afraid to take a chance on making your dreams real? Have you forgotten desire and passion? Who stole that from you? Worse? Why did you let that happen? If you've lost touch with who you are, you have, plain and simple. You are selling out.

Who are you? Are you lying to your friends, your kids, your parents, your wife, yourself? Is what you say true? Are you consumed by having your cake and eating it too? Do you care? Can you tell the difference? Do you ever tell the truth? If not, then you're a liar. Don't kid yourself.

Who are you? Are you a good friend? Generous with your time, not selfish? Not cruel? Do you use people? Do you ever actually listen? Do you make promises you don't keep? Ignore people in need? Yes? Then you're not a good friend. Do it different.

Who are you? Do you know how to love? Yourself? Others? The planet? People who don't "mean" anything to you? Things that are not relevant to you, but to others, to the greater good?

Who will you be when you are 80? If you're not being true to yourself now-change it, or when you're 80 you'll still be a liar, someone who gave up on dreams, a poor friend, a human who lost touch with love. Only you'll be slower and sicker and wondering what on earth you were thinking.

Who are you? For the love of all that is good, answer the question. The sun will set on your life, as it will mine.

Who were you?

  1. don’t fret Ripp, i’m not so naive as to not be answering them myself and i’m not all too happy with some of my current answers either..but that’s the point ain’t it..to move on from wherever you’re headed if it’s not right for you/me…we’re all young enough for second chances you know…in the areas we ALL have that aren’t sitting quite right :)Fati, thanks and thanks for all your love too…have you seen this sunset somewhere before :eyes: :right:

  2. did you mean it’s easier for some than it is for others? yes it is. some have to sort through assorted crapola to get there…but it’s available to all. and we can have it at any time really. power is not given, it’s taken, i believe. power to be you, is always there…so possibly not even “taken” just noticed..but if we’re looking in all sorts of other directions…

  3. It is must easier for some people to take or feel they have earned second chances. But once again, you are correct :eyes::devil:

  4. Darko, i took it on Chapmans’ Peak Drive, just above Noordhoek Beach…next to the “no getting out of your car because it’s too dangerous” sign :left: :right:

  5. Welcome back, Michelle, a lot of people have missed your blog.Brilliant stuff here, too. I’d never have thought to write a post that’s almost all questions. Probably because it takes a long attention span to come up with a list like this one.Cheers!

  6. Thanks James 🙂 I only have a long attention span in certain areas. They’re not always ones that make immediate sense, though.Darko> no! even worse! Cape Town drivers 😀 it’s a section on the mountain pass between two sharp bends on a cliff edge 😀 it’s a new sign, so i think that people might have been knocked down there. :frown:

  7. 😆 at least with lions, you have a chance. a very teeny tiny *very likely just kidding yourself* chance..but a chance 🙂 with our spotted :ninja: friends…:rip:

  8. James, wow a white tiger….:D that must have rocked :Dat the zoo here i used to play with the leopard. darting back behind bushes and he tried to stalk me. i figured he was bored so i used to play with him 😆 the otters too 🙂 the tigers always looked so forlorn. just not designed for africa. i like seeing the animals, but i hate the zoo.ripp i am afraid you may post a pic of how you pet the monkey

  9. I once was allowed to bottle feed a 200 kg white tiger. He was SO excited to get a drink of whatever the keepers put in that bottle. I think it was baby formula. As big as they are, they still move around their pens silently and smoothly. Beautiful, but kind of unnerving to watch.Nice kitty.

  10. I went on a recruiting trip to LSU in 1992 and was taking into Mike V’s cage to pet him. His fur was not silky smooth :eyes: but he licked my hand and arm, it was scary because he is a big kitty. It was quite an honor as most people are not even allowed in the outter cage.

  11. 😆 not sure about that dare but thanks. At the time it was nothing special, but it has gained more meaning as the year pass. It beats the experience my brother had when we were 6-8 years old. A male lion stood about 30 feet away and pissed across his cage, across the females cage next to it and hit my brother on the shoe, it stunk for a long time. Damn funny though.

  12. i don’t know how to post a personal pic on here..maybe you have to upload it to photopublishing first like flickr etc…it ia amazing how animal moments live within and become great things we’ve done 🙂

  13. ripp, you may upload photo first at you photo album, then find url for a photo only, not entire page (this is usually the folder in Opera’s server that contains it) and then put it here in form img= in square brackets []. You can find url if you click on right mouse button and choose properties, then you will have to copy url.I will see if this is possible now:
